VantEdge Logistics Inc. is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Job Title: Intermediate .NET Developer
Term: Full-time position
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Reports to: Alex Gierus, Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.
Purpose:
TerminalBOSS is a respected truck and rail terminal management system with a 20+ year history and is installed in over 150 facilities in North America. To support TerminalBOSS growth, VantEdge Logistics Inc. is currently looking for a software developer.
TerminalBOSS workload will include a steady stream of new installations, existing site upgrades, minor enhancements, and major new features in the roadmap. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a small team environment, interfacing with clients both in the office and the field, and be proud to work on a long lasting, trusted system such as TerminalBOSS.

Main Responsibilities:
- Configure and customize the base TerminalBOSS software for unique installations
- Develop new features in coordination with the TerminalBOSS team
- Contribute to solution design
- Produce high quality code, and contribute to quality reviews, documentation, testing
- Speak with clients to trouble-shoot issues related to TerminalBOSS
- Contribute as possible and required to the success of TerminalBOSS, other VantEdge Logistics products, initiatives, and goals
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of the .NET framework and C#
- In-depth knowledge with .NET framework in:
- NET Webpages
- NET\ Entity Framework
- Windows Forms and WPF application development
- Experience with WCF, RESTful and SOAP based web services
- Application development on SQL Server
- Experience with Source Control software package GIT and Subversion
- Proficient understanding of modern software development practices:
- Refactoring\Design Patterns
- Test Driven Development
- Unit and Integration Testing
- Inversion of Control/Dependency Injection
- Continuous integration practices
- Beneficial experience with:
- PLC and RTU programming
- HMI configuration
- Industrial automation protocol OLE for Process Control (OPC) and Modbus
- Works well in a team environment, with strong communication and inter-personal skills
